The Master's Assignment. 2 Timothy 4:1-5 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truths and will turn aside to myths. But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." In today's society there is a tendency for people to seek out a faith that matches their lifestyle. People seek a savior that fits their values instead of values that fit their Savior. Gone are the days where right is right and wrong is wrong. I've said before...most people have already decided their life philosophy and they are just looking for a theology to wrap around it. I think sometimes we have even polluted the doctrine of forgiveness by subtly making it a license to sin. It's the old "easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission" concept. The problem is that God knows our hearts. Nothing is hidden from Him. He knows our motives, the depth of our sincerity, the contrition of our heart, and the genuineness of our desire to please Him. The more I listen to the voices around me the more I am convinced that we're living in the day described in verse above. When tolerance is valued over truth and we have a consumer mindset about spiritual matters, you know the "what's in it for me" way of thinking, we've drifted from God. Living for Christ is sometimes a solo act- you go it alone at times. But our mission is laid out. k of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. That's pretty clear. Let's stick to the Master's assignment. |
There are more than 800 Baptist churches alone in Haiti, many of which are very small. Though evangelical Christian ministry has been taking place there for decades, much of it is focused on orphanages and education, where Haiti's needs are great. With the eyes of believers worldwide now drawn to this easily accessible but largely unknown nation, perhaps the church will respond with compassion toward our brothers and sisters in a way that will make a temporal and eternal difference. It would be a shame and, I believe, a sin to allow this time to pass unexplored and unused.
huge amouHaitian Christians are struggling. There is a sense of fear due They are, however, hopeful. At a tent village near where we stayed a church has already been established, with meetings on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Every night, hallelujahs rang out for an hour from gathered believers. The hand of God at work in the earthquake was already evident to many Haitian Christians. Despite the almost unfathomable number of dead, it could have been much worse. The earthquake hit at 5:10 p.m. on a weekday, a time when most Haitians are outdoors. Had the quake hit early in the morning or at night, thousands more would have been inside buildings that collapsed. Jesus said in Luke 12:48, “To whom much is given, much will be required.” For Christians the world over, many of whom have been blessed beyond measure, this is a perfect opportunity to help a struggling church. Our mission is to fully develop, help and nurture devoted followers of Jesus Christ in Haiti. We are asking the Lord to keep us strong and, to do what He wants us to do in all aspects of the Christian Family Ministry for the Needy. Whether it is in our approach to ministering The Word of God or to the annual Summer Camp with Haitian Pastors and other activities, we want families to growing in the knowledge of His word and within their Christian relationship. Many people take priority over food programs or registering in becoming church members and raising funds to do God's works. Our family ministry begins with getting to know thee as individual families and from that starting point, seeks to help thee in developing a relationship with Jesus; and not becoming a member of any organized corps. People don't care how much you
know until they know how much you care about them. We care about thee. We can
make a difference; yes we can, in the name of Jesus. Amen… Jean-Marie Philemon .

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.(Josh. 24:15). ![]() ![]() These children represent the future of Haiti. They need your help and your love. ![]() ![]() ![]() It is true that we have material needs, nonetheless, we come to a conclusion that we need Providential intervention, God's merciful and forgiveness from our sins. |

Philippians 2:5 "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus..." The attitude I start the day with has a great deal to do with the way my day goes. There's an old statement you've probably heard before, "Attitude is everything". This statement couldn't be more accurate. Our attitude is the one thing we can control. We may not get a say in everything, but we can decide to have a good attitude. A bad situation doesn't have to warrant us a bad attitude. In your own life, you get to determine what kind of day you're going to have. You can wake up happy and hopeful, or dreadful and depressed. The choice is up to you. The only way a negative situation can really bring your attitude down is if you let it. I'm not saying it's always going to be easy. Sure, there are going to be times when things just won't go your way. However, you have the power to change that. You have the power to believe the best despite the circumstances around you. The choice is yours. You either trust that God has a plan for your life, or you don't. Your attitude will indicate that trust level. The verse above tells us we should have the same attitude as Christ Jesus. Do you think He ever had a lousy attitude? No way! He had an attitude that displayed confidence. He was a man on a mission and didn't let the circumstances around him get him down. He knew who He was and had an attitude of hope and expectancy. I want to encourage you to have an attitude that exhibits Christ. Wake up in the morning knowing it's going to be a good day! Before your feet hit the floor, go ahead and declare God's goodness in your life. I believe the reason so many people can't see God's hand is because their attitude is in the way. Don't let that be you. If you will start your day off with the right attitude, God's blessings will trickle down in every area of your life. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

to all that has been lost and, it seems, some feeling of inadequacy as representatives of Christ. Haitian believers need nts of care and encouragement in these days.
